Single child allowance 2026 calculator
In 2026 the single child allowance (assegno unico) ranges from 203.80 euros a month for each minor child with ISEE up to 17,468.51 euros to 58.30 euros without ISEE or above 46,582.71 euros. Increases for newborns, large families, disability and working parents come on top: enter ISEE and children to see the monthly and yearly total.
The result is an estimate: INPS sets the amount on your application. The calculation runs in your browser: ISEE and children's ages are not sent to anyone.

How the calculation works
Amounts come from the table attached to INPS circular no. 7 of 30 January 2026, revalued by 1.4% on 2025. The table has 252 ISEE bands: the amount for a minor child drops by a few tenths of a euro every 116 euros or so of ISEE, from 203.80 to 58.30 euros.
The allowance is due for every minor child, for children aged 18 to 20 who study, earn under 8,000 euros, are registered as unemployed or do civil service, and for children with disability at any age (Legislative Decree 230/2021, art. 2).
Increases follow art. 4 of the same decree: 50% more in the first year of life; 50% more from 1 to 3 in families with at least three children and ISEE up to 46,582.71 euros; an amount for each child from the third onwards, under 21; an amount for disability under 21; 23.30 euros per child if the mother is under 21; up to 34.90 euros per minor child if both parents work; 150 euros a month for families with four or more children.
All dependent children in the ISEE household count, including those not entitled to the allowance. Children from the third onwards are counted from the eldest, as in the examples of INPS circular no. 41/2023, which the calculator reproduces to the cent with that year's table.
The transitional increase for families that received family allowances in 2021 ended with the February 2025 payment (art. 5, para. 8).
Child's allowance = base amount for the ISEE band
+ 50% of the base if under 1
+ 50% of the base if aged 1 or 2, with 3 or more children and ISEE up to 46,582.71
+ increase from the third child + disability + mother under 21 + working parents
Household total = sum of the children + €150 if there are 4 or more children
Yearly total = monthly total × 12
What the calculation leaves out
- Changes during the year: birthdays, births, a new ISEE. The yearly total multiplies today's amount by 12.
- January and February, which INPS calculates with the ISEE valid in December of the previous year.
- Neutralisation: INPS removes from the ISEE the allowance already received divided by the equivalence scale. If you use the certificate ISEE without neutralising it, the actual amount may be slightly higher. The ISEE simulator calculates it if you enter the allowance received.
- Splitting between parents: the allowance is paid in equal parts to those with parental responsibility, unless agreed otherwise. Here you see the total for the children.
- ISEE with omissions or discrepancies: until you fix them INPS pays the minimum.

For each minor child it ranges from 203.80 euros a month with ISEE up to 17,468.51 euros to 58.30 euros with ISEE above 46,582.71 euros or no ISEE. For children aged 18 to 20 it ranges from 99.10 to 29.10 euros. Increases come on top.
What are the 2026 increases?
50% more for children under one; 50% more for children aged 1 to 3 in families with at least three children and ISEE up to 46,582.71 euros; 99.10 to 17.40 euros for each child from the third onwards; 122.30, 110.60 or 99.10 euros for children with disability under 21; 23.30 euros if the mother is under 21; up to 34.90 euros per minor child if both parents work; 150 euros a month for families with four or more children.
Which ISEE does INPS use for the allowance?
From March 2026, the ISEE for specific family benefits introduced by the 2026 budget law, from which INPS removes the allowance already received divided by the equivalence scale. For January and February it uses the ISEE valid on 31 December 2025.
What happens if I don't file an ISEE?
From March you get the minimum: 58.30 euros per minor child, plus the increases that do not depend on the ISEE. If you file the DSU by 30 June 2026, INPS recalculates and pays the arrears from March.
Do I need to apply again in 2026?
No, if your application was already accepted: INPS keeps paying it. You still need to file the new ISEE and update the application when a child is born or turns 18.
Is the transitional increase still paid?
No. It was for families with ISEE up to 25,000 euros that received family allowances in 2021, and it ended with the February 2025 payment.
